A Father's Love

Title: A Father’s Love (rewrite)
Rating: PG-13
Disclaimer: I have no connections to anyone who worked on any of the Star Wars movies. I’m just a fan.

Chapter 1

“I know of a place I can take Luke so he’ll be safe as he grows up.” Obi-Wan said Yoda. He was holding baby Luke Skywalker in his arms, as he spoke. “I’ll be able to look after him as he does, too.”

“Good.” Yoda said, as he handed Leia, Luke’s twin sister to Senator Bail Organa. “Take care of the girl, you must. I will be on Dagobah but contact me you cannot.” He was speaking to both of the men as he said the last sentence. “Our own safety, as well as the twins’ this is for.”

“I understand, Master.” Obi-Wan said, nodding in agreement. He turned and started to walk toward his transport, when he turned long enough to say to them both, “may the force be with you both.” Then, he turned and walked away. He boarded his transport, as he heard Yoda call out to him, “May the force be with you, Obi-Wan.” The transport took off soon afterward.

Bail and Yoda each went to board their own transports. They left soon after, too.

Obi-Wan flew to Tatooine and he left Luke in the capable hands of Owen and Beru Lars. Then, he went to make himself a home just beyond the Dune Sea on that very same planet, so he could watch over Luke. He slowly began a new life for himself there……..

Fortunately for Obi-Wan, he was able to settle in easily on Tatooine. He did have to take baby Luke to his new home with Owen and Beru Lars first. All he told them about Luke’s parents was that they were good parents and they had died very young. He left soon after, and he found himself a home and settled in very quickly. He wasn’t too happy that he was unable to contact Yoda to let him know that he had safely delivered Luke to his new family, but he didn’t want to take the chance of Vader or the Emperor finding him, so he didn’t even try. He was careful to remain out of sight for the first year of his exile.......

Obi-Wan drove his speeder to Mos Eisley. He was careful not to use his Jedi powers ever since he arrived on his new planet. He didn’t want to take the chance of the Emperor finding him. He arrived at Mos Eisley and he parked his speeder. He walked into the bar and he quickly found a table. He could hear someone being beaten outside, so he went to check it out. He found woman on the ground and she was crying. Feeling sorry for her, he helped her to her feet.

“Leave her be, Jedi. Don’t make me turn your sorry ass in.” A human man told him. He shoved Obi-Wan aside and he began beating on the woman again.

Using a mind trick on him, he said, “You are done beating on this woman.” He shot a threatening look toward the man. His voice was surprisingly calm, as he slowly moved back over to the woman.

“I am done beating on this woman.” He obediently responded, and he moved away from them. He got into his speeder and flew away.

Smiling in victory, Obi-Wan checked on the woman’s injuries. He was taken by surprise, when he saw how beautiful she was. “Thank you, Master Jedi. You are a very good man.” She told him appreciatively.

“Your welcome. I’m Ben Kenobi.” He said, as he checked her injuries. “Are you in a lot of pain? It appears you have quite a few cuts and bruises. I’m still checking for broken bones.”

She groaned in pain, as she held her arm against her. “I think my arm is. He threw me against the wall several times.” She let out a pained sigh, as he checked her arm.

“Is your home close by? It’s very dangerous for me to be here for too long.” Obi-Wan asked her, as he helped her to her feet.

Liana nodded. “I walked here.” She pointed in the direction of her home. “It’s just over there. We should go. Is your speeder close by?” She asked.

He nodded, and he helped her to his waiting speeder. They boarded the speeder and he flew them to Liana’s home. They arrived there fairly quickly and he took her inside, so he could treat her wounds. “Are you here alone?” He asked her, after he was done.

“Yes.” Liana said, as she headed toward her bedroom to lay down. “Thank you again for helping me, Master Kenobi. For helping me, I promise to keep your secret.”

He smiled appreciatively. “Thank you, Liana. Will you be all right, or do you need me to remain here with you in case he returns for you?” He looked slightly worried.

She turned around long enough to say, “If you wouldn’t mind, Master Kenobi, I would feel better if you stayed.”

“All right.” And he did.

Liana went to her room and she laid down for awhile. She slept for the next few hours.

Obi-Wan meditated, as he tried to come up with a way to keep Liana safe. He also couldn’t help but think about just how beautiful this woman truly was. He smiled to himself, as he continued to meditate.

Chapter 2

As the time went on, Liana and Obi-Wan spent more and more time together. This was partially due to the fact that it didn't take her long before she discovered where he lived. At first, he wasn't too happy he had been found. After awhile, he didn't mind as much anymore. Another thing that happened was that their friendship slowly began to grow more toward love.

At first, Obi-Wan was a little worried about what Master Yoda would of thought of how he was acting. That is, until he gradually spent more and more time meditating on these worries. After awhile, this relationship grew even more towards love. he realized he had fallen deeplu in love with Liana and he made sure he let her know it, too.

After they were together for a long period of time, he proposed marriage to her and she accepted. They were married in a private ceremony. It was just them and the minister they had chosen together.

Two years later, Liana surprised Obi-Wan with the news that she was pregnant. Of course, he was shocked, but he was also thrilled at the prospect of becoming a father. He quickly began preparing for the new addition to their family. They were both in for a shock when they wound up having fraternal twins. They decided to name them together. They chose Kiara for their daughter and Kieran for their son. Obi-Wan quickly realized their were force sensitive, which made them possible targets if the Empire was ever to find them, so he decided right then, that he would have to train them in the Jedi Arts, when they were old enough. Though Liana wasn't very happy about this, she reluctantly agreed for her childrens' protection.

Their home in general, was a very happy one. As the twins grew up, their powers began to develop even more. Obi-Wan taught them meditation and how to use telepathy in order to communicate with him and each other. He was pleased with how quickly they caught on to the beginning lessons.

Liana watched these lessons with a heavy heart. She was worried about the safety of their entire family. Their was many nights that she had lengthy discussions about her concerns with Obi-Wan.

He did his best to calm her fears, but deep down, he was worried for them, too. He meditated on this frequently. He also usd the force to contact Master Yoda in order to discuss these concerns with him. This time, it was Yoda who tried to calm his fears. This seemed to work for some time.

Generally, their fears had calmed and they continued to be one big happy family. But their happiness was not meant to last once the twins reached the age of twelve......

Chapter 3

Over the next few years, Liana slowly began to wear down quite easily. This was due to her more than a little shady past, which she kept hidden from Obi-Wan. She did not want him to find out what she had done before they met. Each day, she had grown more and more tired. It was for this reason alone that she chose not to go with her husband and children when it came time to go check on Anakin's son, Luke. Usually, he took just Kieran with him, but recently, Liana has been asking him to take Kiara too. He reluctantly did, not realizing it would be the last time he'd be seeing her. He took the twins outside and helped them both into his wating speeder. Then, he took off, as Liana watched from her bedroom window. All she could do was sigh, as she watched them go.

Despite the chilly reception from Owen, Beru was delighted to see them. She invited them inside for a lengthy visit. None of them had any idea that Storm Troopers were attacking the Kenobi home.

While Luke played with the twins, Obi-Wan spoke with Owen privately. “Are you sure this is wise coming here? Luke has no idea who his father really is and I hope to keep it that way.”

Obi-Wan sighed. “Owen, you know as well as I do, that Luke cannot escape his destiny. We both know what his destiny is too.” He glanced at Owen for a reaction.

Owen let out a frustrated sigh. “I know.”

Obi-Wan and Owen both rushed inside, when they heard Kiara scream and begin to cry hysterically. Obi-Wan rushed over to his daughter and he hugged her. “What’s the matter, Sweetheart?” He asked her gently, as he held her close to him.

“It’s Mama, Daddy. She’s hurt. I saw her die.” She said, still crying. Her arms were tightly wrapped around her father’s neck. “Daddy, you need to go check on Mama.”

Beru came rushing over to them. “Go check on her, Ben. The children can remain here while your gone.” She glanced at Owen, who nodded in approval.

Obi-Wan gave each of his children a hug and he rushed home. His heart broke, when he saw that Kiara’s vision was correct. His wife was in fact dead. He held her dead and broken body, as he sobbed. He buried her in a private ceremony. Then he returned to the Lars’ to break the awful news of Liana’s demise.

Both of the twins were heartbroken. “We never should of left Mama alone!” Kieran shouted, as he held onto his father. “What’ll we do now, Dad?”

“We’ll return to my former home and live there. Too much of our old home reminds me of your mother. It’ll be too painful to stay there any more.” Obi-Wan said to his children.

“Daddy, I do want to go back.” Kiara said. “Just to say goodbye to Mama. Please.” She gave him a sad look.

She looks so much like Liana. Obi-Wan thought, as he nodded in agreement. “All right. Let’s go.” Owen went with them, leaving Beru at home with Luke.

They took the twins to their home long enough to say their goodbyes. It was a very tearful and lengthy one too. Obi-Wan gave a farewell speech, as Owen went inside to pack the twins’ things. He hoped it would be the last he would see of any of the Kenobis, but he knew that it would be impossible, as long as they lived there on Tatooine. He left, as soon as he helped them settle back in to their new home.

Obi-Wan continued their training after giving them a few weeks to get use to their new surroundings and finish settling in.

Chapter 4

Time: Five Years Later.......

Kieran rushed into their stone-faced home. He had a look of pure panic on his face. “Dad, come quick! Luke’s in trouble!” He called out.

Obi-Wan rushed over to him and asked, “Where is he, my son?” He looked worried.

“I can show you. Dad, we have to hurry. Kiara is still out there. I told her to stay out of sight, so he wouldn’t see her. She has her light saber with her, just in case.” He was panting heavily.

As soon as he heard that, Obi-Wan followed Kieran out to his waiting speeder and both men climbed into it. “Blast! I told you not to leave your sister alone out here!” He was quite angry by now. “With those Sand people out here, its way too dangerous. Neither of you are ready to be on your own yet.” He flew to Luke’s location, as he tried to calm down. “How far away from Luke is she?” He asked.

Kieran sighed worriedly. “She was hiding in a canyon not far from where Luke is.” He told his father. “Dad, I’m sorry.”

Obi-Wan didn’t answer him. He was busy landing his speeder. He glanced at his son long enough to say, “make sure your sister is all right. I need to check on Luke.”

“Yes, sir.” Kieran responded, as he got out of the speeder. He rushed over to where his sister was lying unconscious on the ground. He quickly pulled out his light saber, as he rushed over to check on her. He fought off one of the Sand people, who was easily taken out. Then, he knelt down next to Kiara. “Ki, are you all right?”

Groaning painfully, she slowly nodded. “Yes.” She said, looking around. “Where’s Dad?” She let her brother help her to her feet. Then, they rushed over to wait by the speeder.

“He’s checking on Luke.” Kieran answered. He spotted Obi-Wan glancing over to check on them. He nodded to let his father know that Kiara was all right.

Obi-Wan signaled to them to go home. He would meet them there later. Then, he focused back on Luke. “We need to move. Sand People are easily startled, but they will be back. And in larger numbers.” He helped Luke to his feet, just as Luke remembered about C-3PO. Together, they went to check on him.

After getting him, they boarded Luke’s speeder. Then they headed toward Obi-Wan’s home, where the twins waited worriedly.

Luke landed the speeder and they went inside.

Kiara rushed over to greet them. Obi-Wan saw her and he hugged her. “Are you all right?” He asked her.

“I’m fine, Dad.” She said, hugging him back. “Kieran was in his first saber fight.” She smiled, when she saw the surprised look on his face. “He fought well, too.”

He grinned back. “Excellent.” He looked quickly at Kieran. “I’m very proud of you, Kieran. Good job.”

“Thanks, Dad.” He said. He smiled with pride.

Luke went on to explain about the message in R2-D2’s memory banks. It was then, that the message from Leia played for the six of them. It was time for Obi-Wan’s return………

“Who is she?” Kiara asked, after seeing the worried expression on her father’s face. She noticed the same look on Luke’s face too.

“She needs our help, Dad. That part is obvious.” Kieran said, as he glanced at Obi-Wan. “We are going to help her, aren’t we, Dad?”

“Yes, we are.” Then he saw Luke stand up and begin to talk over to the door. “We need your help, Luke.” He gestured toward the now vanished image of Leia, and he added. “She needs your help.” He hoped Luke would agree to come with them.

Luke sighed. “I can’t. I’m in for it as it is.” He said, looking down at the floor. “It’s such a long way away from here.” He leaned against the stone wall he had been standing next to. He could plainly see the disappointment in the older man’s face.

Obi-Wan smirked slightly. “That’s your uncle talking.” It was then that he remembered about Anakin’s light saber and he stood up. He was about to walk over to his storage trunk, but Kieran got to it before he did. He nodded in approval, as his son got the light saber out.

Kieran handed the saber to his father. Then, he walked over and sat back down next to his sister. He glanced at his father. “Are you going to tell him the whole thing?” He asked.

Obi-Wan nodded, as Kiara stood up and left the room. He could sense that she was a little upset that they were leaving the very place their mother was buried. “Luke, this is your destiny.” He handed the light saber to him. “Your father wanted you to have this, when you were old enough. But your uncle wouldn’t allow it. He was afraid you would follow me on some damn fool mission.” He chuckled, as he spoke.

Luke sighed sadly, as he accepted the saber. “My uncle.” He muttered. “How on Earth am I going to explain all this?”

Kieran looked at him. “Luke, Dad wanted us to wait til you were old enough, but Kiara and I can do things other kids can’t.” He took his own light saber out of its loop on his belt, and he placed it on the coffee table. Then, as Luke watched in shock, he used the force to bring the saber back into his hand. “You have that power, too. And with proper training, you will be able to do that too.”

Luke shot a surprised look at Obi-Wan, who nodded. Something caught his attention and he rushed out the door.

Obi-Wan ran outside after him. “Luke, what is it?”

“Their in trouble.” Luke said, desperately trying to stay calm. He quickly got into his speeder and before Obi-Wan could stop him, he took off.

Obi-Wan went back inside, with both R2-D2 and C-3PO following him. Both droids stayed in the living room, while Obi-Wan went to check on his daughter. He knew she had gone to her room. He could hear the teenage girl crying, as she sat on her bed. He walked into her room and he sat down next to her on the bed. “I sensed that you were upset about leaving.”

She turned to him, with tears streaming down her face. “Yeah.” She sighed. “Dad, I’m sorry. I do plan on going with you. I guess I’m just having trouble moving away from Mom. I mean, she’s buried here.” She looked away, feeling ashamed.

Obi-Wan sighed, as he wrapped an arm around his daughter’s shoulders. “Kiara, it’s time for me to get back. We are Jedi Knights. If the Council still was around, it would be time for you and your brother to face the trials. Your both ready. I’ve known that for a long time.”

“Really? You really think Kieran and I are ready?” She asked, smiling a little.

“Yes, I do. I’ve been training you two ever since you were very young. That was a long time ago." He hugged her. “I’m very proud of both of you.” He said.

“Thank you, Dad.” She said, hugging him back. Then, she heard Luke’s speeder return. “He’s back. He’s really sad, too.”

“I know.” He stood up and he left Kiara’s bed room. She got up and followed him outside.

-------------------------

Chapter 5

When they came outside to meet Luke, he was just climbing out of his speeder. Kieran was already outside and he was trying to console him as best he could. Kiara noticed the droids were placing the bodies of the Jawas into a smoldering pile. She was even less happy to see the usual angry fire in her brother's eyes, as he listened to Luke describe what he found over at his Aunt and Uncle's farm. She sighed and glanced over at her father.

Obi-Wan was focusing on Luke just then, so he was busy. He was well aware of the anger his son was carrying and this worried him. "There is nothing you could of done, Luke. If you had been there, you would be dead too and the droids would be in the hands of the Empire." His tone was sad, yet truthful.

Luke looked over at the droids, who were still busily worked. He sighed, as if he was making up his mind about something. When he looked back into Obi-Wan's eyes, he said softly. "There's nothing for me here now. I want to learn the ways of the force and become a Jedi like my father." He glanced at the smoldering bodies of the jawas and finally asked, "who would do something like this anyway? Sand People?"

Shaking his head, Obi-Wan said, “Sand people travel from side to side in order to hide their numbers. This was done by Imperial Storm Troopers.” He glanced at both Kieran and Kiara.

“They killed our mother, too.” Kiara admitted to Luke. Her voice had a touch of sadness in it, which prompted her brother to reach over and wrap an arm around her. She shot him an appreciative look.

“All right. We’ll need to go to Mos Eisley to arrange for a transport.” He said. He glanced at his children. “I want you two to follow us in my speeder. Luke and I will take the droids with us. Do your best at keeping up with us. All right?”

“Yes, sir.” The twins agreed.

Luke and Obi-Wan climbed into Luke’s speeder. As soon as the droids climbed in too, Luke sped off. The Kenobi twins followed close behind in their own speeder.

They arrived in Mos Eisley a short time later. They were caught by surprise at all of the Storm Troopers, that were lingering around. They were questioning several people, that they had stopped. The Kenobis made sure to keep their light sabers out of view, so they wouldn’t draw any unwanted attention to themselves. Unfortunately, the next speeder they stopped was Luke’s.

“How long have you had these droids?” The Storm Trooper asked Luke in a calm voice.

“About three or four seasons.” Luke answered, glancing at Obi-Wan.

“They’re not for sale, if you want them.” Obi-Wan commented and he smirked.

“May I see your identification?” The Trooper asked Luke.

Luke shot Obi-Wan a worried glance, as the older man waved his hand. He said at the same time, “You don’t need to see his identification.”

“We don’t need to see his identification.” The Trooper obediently repeated.

Stifling a chuckle, Obi-Wan said, “These aren’t the droids your looking for.”

“These aren’t the droids we’re looking for,” was the immediate reply.

“He can go about his business.” He said, clearly amused by the scene. He was enjoying himself.

“You can go about your business.” The Storm Trooper repeated.

“Move along.” Obi-Wan ordered Luke quietly.

The Storm Trooper waved them through, as he repeated again. Soft laughter could be heard from the Kenobi siblings as they followed Luke’s speeder through. They weren’t stopped. They parked their speeder next to Luke’s and they climbed out. They could hear their father explaining to Luke how he was able to do that, as they walked into the bar to look for a pilot.

They split up as soon as they entered the bar. Kiara found a quiet table, but as soon as she ordered herself a drink a thug came over and he began bothering her.

At the same time, Luke was having his own problems. He was threatened by a couple of strange creatures that intended to kill him. Obi-Wan intervened, as soon as one of them tossed Luke into Kiara’s table. Her table smashed apart, as his buddy dragged Kiara outside. Obi-Wan wounded the creature badly. Then, him and Luke went to meet with Han Solo, while Kieran went outside to give his sister a hand with the other creature.

Kiara had her light saber drawn and she was just about to strike, when her brother arrived. “Back off, Kieran! I can handle this!” She shouted, as the creature came at her. She deflected his attack, and she managed to wound him, by slicing off his left arm.

Kieran did as she said, and he stood there to watch. He was impressed by how well she had fought. “Good job, Ki.”

She grinned at him. “Thanks.” She said. Then they both went inside to look for their father. On the way inside, Kiara accidentally bumped into Han, as he was leaving. “Oh excuse me.”

“Sorry about that. You okay?” He asked her. He grinned at her.

“I’m fine.” She answered. “I’m looking for someone.”

It was then, that Obi-Wan came walking outside with Luke following him. “What took you two so long? The arrangements have already been made.” He sounded the slightest bit irritated.

“Luke wasn’t the only one who got caught up by those guys in the bar.” Kiara said. “His buddy tried to have his way with me.” She noticed the worried look on her father’s face, so she added, “Let’s just say that I made him see the error of his ways.” She shot him a smile.

“Good. As long as your all right.” A relieved sigh escaped him, as they left. The four went to sell both speeders. Then, they went to find Han in the Hangar Bay. He had walked away, as soon as Obi-Wan joined them at the doorway.

--------------------

Chapter 6

They arrived in the Hangar Bay, and Han was quick to usher them aboard his ship-The Millennium Falcon. Han’s copilot was a Wookie named Chewbacca. He was busily preparing the ship for takeoff. They climbed aboard, just as Troopers began firing on them.

Using his blaster, Han fired back. Then he ran up the ramp and into the cockpit, as he called out for Chewie to lift off.

Chewie did, as the others fastened their seatbelts. C-3PO commented, “This is why I hate space flight.”

They lost the Troopers, as soon as they went into Hyperspace. This relieved them all, and they were all able to relax.

Obi-Wan began training Luke with his light saber. At first, Luke had difficulties catching onto the exercise. He did after Obi-Wan gave him a small pep talk. It helped clear up a few of the questions he had.

Han came back to see what his passengers were doing. He chose not to get in the middle of it, but he did voice his disbelief in the force. It was just then, that the Kenobis all had to sit down quickly after becoming light headed. Han caught Kiara by the elbow and he sat her down next to her father. “Dad?” She said, gasping.

“I feel it, too.” He said, as Luke rushed over to him.

“Are you all right?” He asked the Jedi Master and his family.

“Yes.” They said and Luke went back to his light saber exercises. It was then, that they were called to the cockpit by an alarm going off. They rushed up front and were caught by surprise, when they were told by Han that the planet had been blasted away by Darth Vader.

They felt a sudden jolt just then, which shocked them all to attention. Forgetting her training, Kiara looked frightened as she asked, “what’s happening?”

“Calm down!” Kieran said, as he looked out at what looked like a small, black colored planet. “Dad, what is that?” He glanced at Obi-Wan.

“It looks like a small moon.” Han said, as he glanced at the boy.

Looking nervously at it, Obi-Wan said, “That’s no moon. It’s a space station.” He glanced at each of his children.

Even though Han seemed sure it wasn’t, he didn’t argue with him about it. “Whatever it is, it’s pulling us in.”

“Is their anything you can do?” Luke asked him, as Obi-Wan ushered Kieran and Kiara out of the cockpit.

Chewie howled frustrated, as he tried everything he could think of. He shot a worried glance at Han, when nothing worked.

“It has some kind of lock on us. There’s nothing I can do.” Han finally answered. He could tell just how nervous Luke was and he didn’t blame him. He was beginning to feel the same way.

After a tense discussion with the others, Obi-Wan agreed to let Kiara and Kieran go see about turning off the tractor beam that was holding onto the ship. Before they left on their mission, he made sure to say, “May the force be with you both, my children.” His voice was a mixture of both pride and sadness.

“May the force be with you, Dad.” They both said, and they hurried off. They were careful not to let Vader know they were there.

Meanwhile, the rest of the group headed toward the command center, so they could wait for the twins to return. Unfortunately, about half way there, Obi-Wan was discovered by Vader himself.

Feeling helpless, Luke stayed there until R2 discovered that Leia was aboard this Death Star. “She needs our help.” He protested to Han.

Han hesitated before agreeing to help. They were already disguised as Storm Troopers, so they just handcuffed Chewie and proceeded toward Leia’s cell. Their plan worked, up until they entered the area Leia’s cell was in. Han sent Luke to go and rescue her. He did.

After a little bit of banter between the two, they met up with Han. By then, they had gotten caught off and were forced to take refuge in the garbage bin on that level.

“What’ll we do now?” Leia asked them frustrated. She glanced from one of the men to the other.

“Well, I don’t know.” Luke said. He was feeling helpless by that time.

After a few overcoming a few obstacles (Luke attacked by a creature in the garbage bin and they were almost smashed, when someone activated the crushed on the bin.), they were finally able to meet back up with the twins.

“Any sign of Dad?” Kiara asked Luke.

“He’s been caught by Vader, Kiara.” He said and sighed.

“We need to rescue him, Luke.” Kieran said, as he ran off. It didn’t take him long to find his father. He activated his light saber and he joined the saber duel with Vader.

“Kieran, be careful!” Obi-Wan warned him, as he backed off a little.

“So, Obi-Wan.” Vader said. “You did train your own children as Jedi, too.” His was voice soft and taunting.

“They just reached the level of Jedi Master.” Obi-Wan said, as he rejoined the saber duel. “You will never find her, Darth. I can assure you of that.”

It was an incredibly rigarous battle, but in the end, Kieran was badly injured. To Obi-Wan's relief, he wasn't killed. He watched Vader smile in triumph, as he turned and walked away from them. He picked up his son and he carried him back to the Falcon. They walked up the ramp and inside of it. Ignoring the worried look on his daughter's face, he began to treat Kieran's injuries. After he managed to get Kieran asleep comfortably, he joined his daughter and their friends in the make-shift lounge area of the ship. He noticed the worried look on Kiara's face, as soon as she saw him and he went over to her.

"How is he, Daddy?" She asked him.

"He needs time to heal, but he'll be fine. We do need to get him to a medical facility as soon as possible." He said sternly. He noticed the questioning looks on both Luke and Leia's faces. They could tell that something else was going on that they were unaware of.

Sniffling, she nodded as she glanced at Leia. “Dad, its time they heard the rest.” She was still trying to calm down.

“Agreed.” He said, just as Han appeared. He needed Luke’s help getting away. Luke quickly got up and he went to give him a hand. He came back a few minutes later.

“What is it you need to tell us?” Leia asked, glancing at Luke.

Obi-Wan noticed this. He could sense the connection the two shared. “The two of you share a very special connection. One that neither of you knows about.” He began. He started to say something else, but Leia motioned for him not to.

“I already know.” She looked directly at Luke, and said, “He’s my brother.” She glanced at Obi-Wan for confirmation. He nodded.

“That’s right.” Obi-Wan said. “The two of you are twins.” He sighed, before continuing. “Both of you were separated at birth to prevent the Emperor from finding you. You were sent to live with people that could be trusted enough to keep secret who your parents really are.”

“What do you mean? Our mother is dead.” Luke said.

“Luke, Vader wasn’t always Vader. He use to be a Jedi named Anakin Skywalker.” Kiara said, and she turned away.

“Vader is our father?” They both said in unison. They both shared a look of surprise and shock.

“Yes.” Obi-Wan said. He glanced at his daughter to check on her. He could hear her crying softly, as she stared out of the window. He started to walk over to her, but Leia got to her first.

"Are you worried about your brother?" She asked her.

Kiara nodded, as she saw her father come over to her. He pulled her into a tight hug. She leaned into the embrace and cried openedly, as the others looked on in silence.

Han offered to let Kiara rest in his small size quarters on the Falcon for awhile, so Obi-Wan could continue training Luke in the ways of the force.

--------------------

Chapter 7

While Kiara slept, it seemed like everything wrong bregan happening at once. Luke was stil having trouble catching onto the lightsaber exercise, the side of the ship had been hit by blaster bolts from several Imperial Fighters, and they were unable to go into Hyperspace. Much to Obi-Wan's unhappiness, the blaster fire was enough to wake his daughter and she immediately came up front to find out what had happened.

“What happened, Han?” Kiara asked, nervously.

Several fighters appeared from behind their ship. Their guns were firing crazily. A few of the lasers hit the side of the ship.

“Them.” He said, pointing toward the fighters. He turned to Chewie. “Let’s get ready to go into Hyperspace.”

Chewie howled again, as he made the preparations. As soon as they were ready, Kiara was asked by Han to go back and talk to Obi-Wan and her brother. As soon as she went back, he tried to go into Hyperspace. By now, Leia had come up front to sit down with them. Han looked defeated, as soon as he realized they didn’t go into Hyperspace.

“No light speed?” Leia asked, giving him an annoyed look.

“It’s not my fault.” He protested. Then he began looking for places to land, so he could make some repairs on his ship. Glancing at Leia, he asked, “know of any good places to land around here?”

“Where are we?” She asked, glancing out at the stars.

“The Anoat System.” He answered.

“There’s not much there.” She commented.

Still looking through his computer records, he came across a possible place. “This is interesting. Lando.”

“Lando System?”

“Lando isn’t a system. He’s a man. Lando Calrissian. Gambler, card player.” He glanced at her over his shoulder. “You’d like him.” He said. The changed course and headed toward Cloud City, where Lando was the Chief Administrator.

Luke was well into his training, as Han began his descent over Cloud City. After a short banter session with someone over his comm, he was finally able to land the Falcon. He sighed in an irritated manner, as he exited the ship. The others followed. That is except for Luke and Obi-Wan. They continued with Luke’s training.

Lando approached them himself. He looked very unhappy to see them at first. He walked right up to Han and he said, “You have a lot of nerve showing your face here.” As soon as he stood face to face with him, he brought his hand up to hit him, but he gave him a fierce hug instead. He laughed as he did. After he did, he then noticed the Kenobi twins and he greeted them.

“Hello.” Kiara said, offering her hand in friendship. “I’m Jedi Master Kiara Kenobi. This is my brother and fellow Jedi Knight, Kieran.”

“Hello. I’m Lando Calrissian. Your name sounds familiar. Are you by chance related to Ben Kenobi?”

“He’s our father and Jedi Master.” Kieran said, as he shook Lando’s hand.

Lando turned back to Han. “So what’s up?” He asked his old friend.

With a slight groan, he said, gesturing toward the Falcon, “repairs. I though you might be able to help me out.”

He faked an angry look. “What have you done to my ship?”

“Hey. You lost it to me fair and square.” Han said, giving him an innocent look.

Lando’s face relaxed into a smile. “I’ll have my people get to work as soon as possible. Come on.” He said, as soon as Leia introduced herself too. He was about to walk with her, but Han stepped in and she took his arm instead. Lando and the twins followed. They walked inside and stopped dead, when they saw Vader right inside the door.

Kiara shot Lando an angry look. “What’s all this about? What did you do, Lando?” She asked him. She exchanged a look with Kieran. “What do we do? Dad and Luke are still on board the Falcon.” She asked Kieran using the force.

“Dad, Vader’s here. Lando has double crossed us. He now knows I’m alive. We might be needing your help, but Luke still needs to stay out of sight.” Kieran used the force to say to his father.

“All right. He still has no idea about Leia yet, so she should be safe. I’ll keep Luke on board. I’ll be right there. Be careful and may the force be with you both.” He said to them both. He sighed, as he turned toward Luke. “Vader is here in Cloud City. I’m not sure your ready to face him yet though.”

Slipping on his jacket, he said, “Ben, they need my help if they’re going to get out of there.” He sighed.

Chapter 8

“I’m on my way in there to help get them out of there. I want you to stay here, until I get back.” Obi-Wan ordered him. Then, he turned and left the ship. He headed inside and was immediately confronted by Vader. “Hello, Darth.” He said, flatly.

They both ignited their sabers and began to duel. They both heard another saber be ignited, as they fought.

“I’m sorry for disobeying you, but I have to do this.” Luke said, as Vader turned to him. “Your guards don’t do their job very well, Father.” He smirked slightly.

“Don’t get cocky, Luke.” He heard someone call out to him, as father and son began their saber fight.

“So, you know the truth about who I am. Good.” Vader said. He seemed very pleased. “I’m glad Obi-Wan told you.”

“Why? I have no intention of joining you.” Luke said to him. He yelled in pain, after Vader sliced off his hand out of anger.

Vader used the force to push him through the air and he hit the wall before landing on the floor hard. Satisfied with merely wounding him, Vader turned and walked away. He felt victory with each step.

The sounds of light sabers could be heard through the hallway, as Kieran and Kiara fought there way over to Obi-Wan and Luke. They made it a few seconds later. “Dad, are you all right?” Kieran asked, as soon as they reached him.

“Yes, but Luke’s injured. We need to get him some medical attention right away.” Obi-Wan said, worriedly. “How did you two get over here and where are the others?”

“We fought our way through, after Kieran used a Jedi mind trick on the guards.” Kiara said, hiding a smile. She came over and helped Obi-Wan get Luke back to the ship, where the others had gathered. As soon as they got on board, Han took off and he flew them toward the Rebel Base once again.

They finally managed to arrive at the Rebel Base and Luke was immediately rushed to their medical facility. Here, he was treated and then fitted with an artificial hand. He was ordered to remain on bed rest for the next few days just to make sure he was all right.

Kiara and Kieran both sat in on the attack preparation meeting the rebels had gathered for. Neither offered much help, because they didn’t feel it was why they had been trained as Jedi. They had low discussions with Obi-Wan at the same time. He half-listened to the meeting. He did want to hear the twins’ views on what was going on, too.

After awhile, he decided it was time to contact Yoda. “Master, it is time for the Jedi to come out of hiding. I am currently training Anakin and Padme’s son.”

“I know, Obi-Wan. Trained your own children in the Jedi ways too, you have.”

“I have indeed, Master. I felt it was important for me to do so. Just in case I was found.” Obi-Wan explained, using the force.

“Understand I do, Obi-Wan. Approve, too.” He responded. “Keep your children safe, you must.”

“Yes, Master.” Obi-Wan said. Then, he went back to listening as the attack prep continued. He could hear Luke and Leia chatting outside. It sounded like a serious discussion, too. He chose to leave them alone to talk.

Kiara walked outside to get some air. The sky was just beginning to get dark, and she looked up at the stars. She sighed, as she thought about her mother. “I miss you so much, Mom.” She said sadly.

“You okay?” Obi-Wan asked, as he approached her.

“I’m just thinking about Mom.” She admitted. She turned toward him. “I miss her, Dad.”

“I do, too.” He said. By now, he was standing right next to her.

“What did Master Yoda say about the attack?” She asked him.

“We are not to get involved.” He said. “Jedi are still keeps of the peace. We’re not meant to be soldiers.”

She nodded. “Will Luke follow his destined path? He will have to face Vader a second time.”

“He isn’t ready yet. His training isn’t going as quickly as you and Kieran’s did.” He said, with an exhausted sigh.

They sat down in a grassy area, so they could continue their talk.

Kiara smiled. “Will I ever meet Master Yoda?” She asked.

“Possibly some day.” He answered, grinning back at her. His eyes filled with sadness just then. “You look so much like your mother.” He said, as he placed a hand on her shoulder.

“I’m glad I still have you and Kieran here with me, Daddy.” She said, as she leaned against her father. She put her head on his shoulder.

Without thinking, he kissed the top of her head. “I’m glad we’re together, too.” He said softly to her. He glanced behind him and saw the rebels fling out of the building. “We should go.”

“What are we going to do?” She asked, as they both stood up.

“We’ll need to find out if Princess Leia needs any kind of Jedi help. She will still need protecting, after Luke goes to confront Vader.” Obi-Wan said to her. “After his last training session, he’ll only need a few more training sessions before he is ready to face his father.”

“Good, because we’re running short on time.” She said, as Kieran came out. He was followed by Han and Chewbacca. The small group came toward them. Kiara looked at them and sighed. Then, she glanced at her father. “You need to finish Luke’s training. I’ll protect Leia. Kieran can keep a close eye on what’s going on with the rebel fleet. I’ll see if I can find out what they are planning to do.” She turned around and walked away.

Han and Chewie approached Obi-Wan. “Was it something we said?” He asked..

With a small grin, Obi-Wan shook his head. “No. Kiara was sent on a solo mission.” He turned to Kieran. “We need you to keep a close eye on the rebels and let us know what they’re planning.” He ordered him.

“Yes, sir.” Kieran said, and he walked off.

Obi-Wan started to walk away to go look for Luke. Han watched him leave and he sighed. Then, he headed for another ship.

Chapter 9

As soon as Obi-Wan located Luke, he led him aside and he conducted what he hoped would be Luke’s final Jedi training session. He was amazed at how quickly the boy caught on to the Jedi training style. He turned it into his own and it was more under control compared to how Anakin use to fight. When he was satisfied, he ended the training session looking quite proud. “Very nicely done, Luke.” He said, happily.

“Thank you.” Luke said, looking quite pleased with himself.

“It looks like your finally ready to face him.” Obi-Wan informed him. His look was very serious, as he spoke. He could tell Luke was uncertain as to whether or not he, himself felt he was ready to confront Vader.

“Are you sure I am?” Luke asked him seriously.

Obi-Wan nodded.

Luke sighed. He wasn’t so sure, but he didn’t want to show the Jedi Master that. He took a deep breath and slowly let it out. “Okay.” He finally said, and he walked away. He headed toward a ship that Obi-Wan had waiting for him. Luke climbed aboard. He wasn’t use to R2 not being in the copilot seat, but he just shook it off and he prepared the ship for takeoff. With his Master watching, he took off and headed toward the waiting Death Star.

“May the force be with you….always.” Obi-Wan said, using the force. Then he headed for his own ship so he could go rendezvous with his children. Using the communicator inside his ship, he attempted to contact them. “Kiara, do you copy? It’s Dad. Kieran Kenobi, do you copy? This is your father.”

“Dad, I’m here. Leia’s close by. Did Luke head toward the Death Star?” Kiara said. There was static in the background, so she was difficult to hear clearly, as she spoke. Just then, a blaster was heard in the background.

“Kiara!” Obi-Wan shouted, as he readied the ship for takeoff. He sounded worried. “Kiara Kenobi, do you copy?”

After a few minutes, she responded. By then, he had already taken off and headed for her location. “Are you and Leia all right?” He asked, worriedly.

“We’re both wounded, but not too badly. If your tracking us, we’re on the forest moon of Endor.” Kiara reported.

“I’m on my way there now. Is Han there too?” He asked her.

“Yes.” She chuckled lightly then. “I guess he’s not use to being around a strong female, because he automatically assumed I would be needing protection too.”

He chuckled too. Then he sighed with relief. “I’m less than a parsec away. I’ll be there soon.” He said. “Send me your coordinates, so I can locate you, as soon as I land.”

She did. Then, she broke off communication with him to get back to Leia.

At the same time, Kieran was finding out the battle plans. He managed to talk Lando into telling him that a raid was planned aboard the Death Star. A Squad was being sent to destroy the Death Star, while the Emperor and Vader were aboard. Lando also reported to him that a squad down on Endor was put in charge of blowing up the shield generator, so that Lando could succeed in destroying the Death Star. He headed for his ship and he contacted Obi-Wan. He informed him of the battle plans. By now, Lando had taken off in the Falcon.

“All right, Kieran.” Obi-Wan said and sighed. “Meet us on Endor.” Then, he fed Kieran’s ship the coordinates.

“On my way now, Dad.” Kieran said. “I’ll meet you at the rendezvous sight.” He quickly took off in his ship, and he flew toward Endor.

Kiara and Leia moved through the jungle slowly heading toward the rendezvous sight. They were both injured, but Kiara lied about the extent of her injuries. She didn’t want to worry him.

Han waited until they were out of sight. Then he contacted Obi-Wan and told him that Kiara was hurt worse than she let on.

Obi-Wan landed a short time later and he arrived at the sight. Kiara and Leia were already there. He rushed over to Kiara. His face showed nothing but concern for his daughter. Leia was tending to her wounds. Her arm had already been bandaged. “How is she doing?” He asked her.

“She’s lost a lot of blood.” Leia reported. “I have a rebellion ship arriving within the next few seconds to take her back to the base for treatment.” She looked at him right in the face and added, “She did it saving my life, General Kenobi.”

He shot her a grateful smile. “Thank you, Leia.” He said. He saw another ship land and he sighed. It was Kieran on board the rescue ship.

“Dad, bring Ki and come on!” Kieran shouted, as he waved them over.

Obi-Wan carefully picked up his daughter, and he carried her over to the waiting ship. He handed her off to Kieran and he climbed aboard too. The ship quickly took off and they were flown toward the rebel base.

Luke felt more prepared for this encounter with his father. He was, in fact, more prepared than Vader this time. As soon as he saw him, he made many attempts to bring him back to the good side of the force.

“It is too late for me, my son.” Vader claimed, as he took Luke’s light saber. He seemed impressed by how nice the new saber looked. “So…you’ve constructed a new light saber. Very resourceful.”

Luke didn’t bother to respond. He was too busy studying Vader. He was hoping to find some ray of hope to act on, as they walked through the hallways. They stopped right outside a door and Vader sighed. Luke heard him. “There must be some part of you that remembers who you really are.” He said, half-pleading.

Vader just shook his head, as he pushed a button. Then, he gave a small shove to Luke to get him to go inside. Hesitantly, he did. This was the last quiet moment between father and son, before they were forced into a light saber duel.

Luke stopped the duel after remembering why he had come in the first place. He unignited his light saber and he tossed it to the floor.

Angry now, the Emperor began shooting sparks from his finger tips. “If you will not turn, you will die.” He said, angrily.

Vader saw how helpless his son looked and he picked up his former Master. He threw him over the side of a power tube. Electrocuted badly, he collapsed to the floor. He saw Luke come over to him in a hurry and he said. “Leave me, my son. It is too late for me.”

Shaking his head, he argued, “I’ve got to save you, Father.”

“You already have, Luke.” Anakin said, after Luke had taken the Vader mask off. Just before he died, he added, “Tell your sister, you were right about me.”

Luke had a private Jedi type of funeral for Anakin in the Vader costume. He was sad that his father had died, but at the same time, he was glad Anakin had finally become good again. He had died a Jedi Knight.

Several hours later, Obi-Wan was sitting next to his daughter’s bedside in the medical facility that was located at the rebel headquarters. He was waiting for the doctor to return, so he could find out how his daughter was. Finally, he spotted him walking over to them and he sighed. “How is she?” He asked.

The doctor looked at him straight in the eyes and said, “she’ll be fine. We were able to refurbish her blood supply in time.”

Obi-Wan shook the doctor’s hand. He looked very pleased to hear this. “Thank you very much, Doctor.”

“Your welcome, Master Jedi.” He said to him. He started to walk away, but he stopped quickly and turned back around. “I couldn’t help but notice her body has incredibly quick healing abilities. Is your daughter a Jedi, too?”

“Yes,” he answered with a smile.

The doctor walked away, as Kieran arrived. They were able to have a family reunion there, as Kiara began to awaken. She was both pleased and relieved to see them both. She made sure to tell them so too. Obi-Wan sent word to the others that his family and they was all safe and sound.

Their raid was a complete success! Not only was Han, Leia, and their team able to destroy the Death Star, they also managed to discover that Luke succeeded in his own mission, too. He arrived at the victory party late. He and Leia shared a heartwarming hug, as soon as he arrived. Han wasn’t too worried about Luke taking her away from him anymore. Not now, that he knew the truth about the twins’ connection. He and the rest of the partiers enjoyed themselves for the rest of the night. They no longer had to worry about Vader, the Emperor, or anyone else in the Empire. They could finally, all live in peace for the rest of their lives.

There's the rewrite in full. Thanks, Everybody for your patience. As you can tell, most of the fic remained in tact. I just needed to explain several scenes a little better than I did before. Please let me know what you think of this new version.
